What: Networking and Demonstration
When: Saturday, October 18, 2025 - 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. CST
Where: 231 HCR 1207, Whitney, Texas 76692
Meeting Information:
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for equine-assisted professionals, enthusiasts, and newcomers to come together,
learn, and connect at our upcoming Eagala Networking and Demonstration event.
Hosted by Diane Frederickson, Equine Specialist (ES), and Vicki Thompson, Mental Health Professional (MH), this gathering is designed to foster
collaboration, expand knowledge, and celebrate the transformative power of equine-assisted growth and learning.
At the heart of this event lies a commitment to advancing the Eagala Model—an approach that blends the wisdom of horses with professional counseling and education to facilitate profound personal and interpersonal growth. Whether you are Eagala Certified, pursuing certification, or simply intrigued by the possibilities of equine-assisted work, you are warmly invited to attend. This networking and demonstration event promises meaningful experiences, practical insights, and lasting connections within the Eagala community.
Throughout our time together participants will have the opportunity to observe and engage in three thoughtfully curated demonstration sessions, each designed to highlight the versatility and effectiveness of the Eagala Model:
• Counseling Demonstration for Leadership and Goals: Witness how equine-assisted counseling can empower individuals to clarify their leadership style, set meaningful goals, and navigate challenges. Professional facilitators will guide a live session in the arena, illustrating the depth of insight and transformation that emerges when horses and humans work together in a therapeutic context. This demonstration is ideal for those interested in personal development, coaching, and mental health support.
• Horse Powered Reading with Students: Discover the innovative technique of Horse Powered Reading, which integrates literacy development with equine interaction to create a dynamic, engaging learning environment. Students will participate in activities that blend reading fundamentals with the nonverbal communication and emotional intelligence fostered by working with horses. This session is particularly relevant for educators, therapists, and parents seeking creative approaches to academic growth.
• Deaf Communications Demonstrations with Deaf Students: Explore the intersection of equine-assisted learning and deaf communications in a unique demonstration designed for deaf students. Facilitators will showcase how horses can bridge gaps in language, foster connection, and enhance self-expression in an inclusive setting. Attendees will gain insights into adapting equine-assisted activities to meet the needs of diverse learners, emphasizing accessibility and empowerment for all.
Each demonstration will be held in the arena, providing participants a front-row seat to the authentic interactions and learning moments that unfold between people and horses. In these sessions, the value of connection—between facilitator and participant, horse and human, and within the group—will be vividly illustrated, underscoring the profound impact equine-assisted work can have on growth, healing, and understanding.
Through experiential learning, observation, and hands-on participation, attendees will deepen their appreciation for the Eagala Model’s capacity to nurture leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and resilience. This event is a celebration of the unique role horses play in personal development and a testament to the transformative power of partnership.
We believe that learning is best supported by a welcoming environment and thoughtful hospitality. In addition to the scheduled sessions, guests are invited to enjoy:
• Morning Snack Breakfast: Start your day with a selection of light, energizing breakfast snacks, providing a warm welcome and a chance to mingle with other attendees before demonstrations begin.
• Lunch Provided: A hearty lunch will be served midday, offering time to relax, share insights, and continue building connections. While lunch is
complimentary, donations are graciously accepted to help offset food costs and support future community events.
• Lodging Available: For those traveling from afar or wishing to extend their participation, overnight lodging is available. Please contact the event
organizers in advance to reserve accommodations and discuss any specific needs you may have.
Eagala certified members in attendance will have the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) toward their recertification. Participation in this event not only enriches your professional experience but also advances your credentials within the Eagala community. Documentation and sign-in will be provided to ensure proper credit for CEUs.
Beyond the demonstrations, this event is designed to facilitate meaningful networking among professionals, students, and curious community members. Through informal conversations, collaborative activities, and shared meals, you will have the chance to meet others who are passionate about equine-assisted work. Whether you are seeking mentorship, partnership, or inspiration, our hope is that you leave with new connections and a renewed sense of purpose.
All Eagala certified members, those interested in certification, and newcomers are welcome. To register or inquire further about the schedule, lodging, or specific accommodations, please reach out to the event organizers. Early registration is encouraged, as space may be limited for certain sessions and lodging.
