We seek to find an EAGALA program that could benefit from two young, healthy geldings who are well rounded and mentally mature, have no vices and would be an asset to a mental health practice. They are pasture mates. They are available for donation. Delivery to the right program can be arranged by the donor. Let me tell you a little about Reagan and Slick.
Reagan and Slick are owned by my friend/colleague Margaret Sisson. She founded the nonprofit Riley’s Wish and works diligently within the OCD mental health community. She is a lifelong horsewoman. She seeks the best opportunity for these two horses who cannot, due to physical limitations work a ranch horse job.
Reagan is a 5-year-old quarter horse gelding. He has excellent ground manners. However, X-rays show degenerative changes to his spine therefore carrying a rider causes him pain. He can only be used as a non-mounted therapy horse where he will not be expected to carry a rider. He does well in a stall but prefers to be out on pasture. He’s easy to haul short and long distances.
Slick is an 8-year-old quarter horse gelding. He’s very interested in young people. Margaret finds him daily waiting for the bus to drop the neighbor kids off after school. Slick has a strong foundation under saddle. However, one of his hocks has not completely fused. He has not been ridden for the last two years.
Both Reagan and Slick are submissive in the pasture and are healthy, easy keepers and have up to date veterinary care. Do you have space for these two nice geldings in your EAP practice? If so, I’d love to tell you more about these two horses.
We have provided horses sanctuary and opportunities to do incredible work since 2015 in multiple states during our active duty and retired from Air Force career. Those horses in turn support veterans and kids while they mutually heal from injuries, both visible and invisible. Perhaps we know each other or have worked together in service to military families. Please call me if you would like more information about Reagan and Slick.
